Hi, I recently moved from US to Chennai, India for 6 months assignment. I always preferred to wear business casuals in US - Tops & cotton pants / Tops & Jeans. Not much into skirts & dresses. I am Team lead here and lined up for Manager promotion in next year. I am wearing Kurtis & leggings, Tops & Jeans mostly. I look bit young and jeans looks good on me and i am comfortable in that. However, most of the lady managers wear only salwar suits, saree or Kurti with Duppatta. No one wears jeans here. Do i need to stop wearing jeans here? Should i stick to Salwar suits? Is dressing really matters? Please pour your suggestions
Depends on the dress code in your organisation..because some companies insist on formal dress code ( salwar suit / sarees/ business formats/ kurtas with legging allowed )..but if your company is not too rigid on dress code and business casual are allowed, u can very well wear them..no need to change the style..also sarees can be worn occasionally, don't force yourself to wear often if u don't feel comfortable..
