Jayasala, that is a real penetrating analysis. He has to get into the administrator's mode from the activist's. otherwise AAP will see a quick demise in five years or even before that. Yes Deli government is handicapped in many ways., It has no control over law and order or even the land in the city which is owned by the Central government through the Delhi Development authority. Yet in the limited areas in which they can make a difference like education and health care, the government should do its best.

Anjanag, the price is secondary. What matters is the big ego trip that Modi took with that suit.which had his name embroidered all over it.

I don't know how sincerely Modi will support the new administration because the central government has enough authority to paralyze the local government. It is for Kejriwal to try and establish a sound, healthy viable relationship with the centre.

Akanksha true Winning the election is the easiest part. The government faces big challenges, particularly because it really does not have much power over the city. The centre controls law and order and has a monopoly of the real estate. Even for setting up a school, the Delhi government has to approach the centre. With a party that has been badly thrashed ruling at the centre Kejriwal has to deal with a wounded tiger.

    @balaji @armummy

It is his prerogative to accept the gifts, and to choose to wear it.

Political discussions shouldn't look like 'relationships with in-law' section.

Kejriwal may get his full state-hood.. sooner than later..

Reports are that some KGPians in bureaucracy are pitching a proposal wherein some parts of New Delhi will be under central govt and AAP will have full powers of state in rest of Delhi.. lets see how much can AK deliver..

By KGPians I think you mean IIT Kharagpur alumni. I spent significant time there and I can assure you that the people's views there are as diverse as any place. AAP's values are not shared by many responsible people (who are not "aam" in thinking).

@steve Forget statehood. Give a thought about this comment:

"AAP has 1825 days to keep their promises of
    - 500 new schools
    - 20 new colleges
    - 1500000 CCTV cameras
    - 200000 public toilets
    So at an average,
    - a school to be started in every 3.65 days
    - a college to be started in every 91.25 days
    - a CCTV to be installed in every 2 mins
    - a public toilet to be build in every 13 mins
All this will be funded by 50% cut in electricity tariff, VAT reduction, free water and WiFi...."

I think instead of starting new schools and colleges, one thing that is totally under Delhi state is to improve existing schools, colleges and hospitals. Rein in auto drivers to use meters and not deny service to passengers (Nirbhaya had to board that dreadful bus as no auto was ready to ferry them).
