Life, it seems, can twist and turn, With lessons harsh we fail to learn. A trip for joy, a peaceful start, Can end in grief that breaks the heart. You walk through Kashmir’s mountain air, “Heaven on Earth” so pure, so fair. But terror strikes with brutal flame, And paradise is not the same. You cheer with win, the flags held high, But a stampede steals away the sky. A celebration turns to cries, As hope and horror intertwine. A honeymoon, so full of light, Turns into murder overnight. The vows once wrapped in sacred grace Now vanish without a single trace. You board a flight to chase your dream, But crash into a silent scream. No final hug, no last embrace, Just fading stars and empty space. In hostel halls where healers stay, Young doctors rest at end of day. But destiny, so cruel and fast, Turns promise into distant past. So while we breathe and while we’re near, Let’s hold each other, keep them dear. Life is short, as the old truth goes, Be kind, before the curtains close.
@Anjelin A poem that wrenches the heart! From an infant to an old person everyone just ceases to be in a fraction of a second! Even after seeing such calamity, we continue to play our games merrily!
