Have you ever seen the record player playing a song or a speech ? A small pin at the end of a handle will be touching the recorded path of a moving circular plate ( called the gramophone plate ). The question is how many recording lines has a gramophone plate.
No idea. As far as the groove goes, it is a spiral line, right so would be a single spiral line. I thought that is the recording line, which would be one line only! I have no idea about the recording lines, is it different!
I have no idea what you were expecting! But if there is a spiral line then it has one start and one end! So would be a single spiral line! I might be totally wrong! Infact don't know much about gramophone!
Hm, if you say up and up-- I will land up with infinity! I am totally lost, you seem to be interested in HMV, belts and gramophones! No harm, but I haven't a clue! Did google them, only to find confusing terminologies and rpms. No mention of recording lines. Just that the stylus moves over the record. Sorry, I give up!
You are right , but not absolutely right. You are right in saying that the recording groove is a single line , though a spiral one. Our Maths Teachers ( even all the teachers ) would advise us , after writing the answer , go through it once again for anything left out . Now I have to ask you to go through the question also. How many lines ....on a gramophone PLATE . THE PLATE HAS TWO SIDES AND HENCE THE ANSWER IS " TWO LINES ".
