Just when Raine Cooper gives into her love and attraction for Torin, Torin’s memories of her are erased by a group of norns. But Raine is intent on reminding Torin of what they had. But that is not all she has to deal with. Between ignoring snide comments and insults in school, training about Runes, trying to keep up with her father’s illness and trying to be a good friend, Raine is stretched thin. Will she be able to hold on to all her projects or will she lose someone in the process?

I was happy to see Andris play a larger role in this book. The dynamics between Raine, Cora and Eirik are ever changing and interesting. We find out a little more about who Raine really is and the extent of her power. The character of Ingrid is kind of confusing - one never knows what she is all about. The plot continues to unfold, revealing more secrets and information. I have started to like the author’s narration style except for the continuous repetition of Raine Cooper telling us that Torin makes her go weak in the knee. No seriously, the number of times she thinks about it to herself is way too much and half way through the book I was shouting at Raine -’Okay woman I get it!’

This second novel in the series gives us a look at the bigger picture and the possibilities are immense. I will be sure to pick up the next in the series.
