    Mithy beauty,

---> Multivitamins are taken for a particular vitamin deficiency and it has no harm if we take enough tablets.

---> Its not bad if you really need it...otherwise try to avoid taking multivitamin tablets.

---> Doctors prescribe it only for pregnant ladies and its must to hear doctors advice when others need to take it.

Priya, Nice Start. Sorry dear for late visit. Was extremely occupied in the personal front.

Partially cooked vegetables are very good as they will not loose all the nutrients.

Greens should never be over cooked. blanch and use. this will help you pass on the goodness completely to your body.

Hai priya, you are right ma. We must take Multivitamin tablets when there is deficiency of it.

To stay fit, healthy and strong our body needs to get enough vitamins every day. Vitamins are essential nutrients that your body needs to perform certain chemical reactions and to do its job properly. Vitamins are needed for all sorts of different functions in your body, including:

    • How you digest food
    • The condition of your hair and nails
    • How your muscles grow
    • Your eyesight
    • Heart
    • Your nervous system.
While vitamin supplements can be helpful, particularly amongst people who struggle to eat a balanced diet, they’re certainly not an easy option to take the place of a healthy lifestyle.
Multivitamin tablets are beneficial for those who need them and thus, should be taken under doctors advice. Multivitamin tablets generally is asked to be taken only for a specified period of time.
In the present work culture, which demands 24 hours work, diet is the worst effected. The only guideline for daily diet is to eat and cook something which does not take time and thus, processed food and to take a multivitamin tablet seem much easy. The problem begins with the fact that most of us don't know what amount of multivitamin should be taken in day. Multivitamins tablets are for those who lack in it, taking it without limit, results in most serious illnesses like,
Diarrhea – One of the most common side effects of multivitamins is Diarrhea. This is caused due to high dosage of magnesium,
Kidney Stones – The common cause of Kidney stones is high concentration of calcium. Thus, one of the side effects of multivitamin tablets is high concentration of calcium
Cardiac Problems - High concentration of Zinc leads to hindering the cardiac rhythm and thus, result in weak heart. A prolonged period of weak heart further may result in heart attack. Other effects of high Zinc concentration are teeth staining, gastric, urinary problems and muscle weakness.

In India, it is the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) that sets up Nutrition Advisory Committees or Expert Groups and recommend the "Dietary Allowances" in respect of energy (Calories), proteins, fats, minerals, iron, vitamins etc. for various age groups within the population including special groups like infants, pregnant/nursing mothers, children etc. and at the same time recommend dietary allowance by activity groupings also. These Committees/Expert Group also recommend weighted average per capita requirements for the population of the country as a whole, to enable the policy-makers plan for production or procurement of the required quantities of various foodstuffs.
To help people better understand the minimum and maximum doses for supplements, has established some guidelines.

    • The RDA (Recommended Dietary Allowance) and the AI (Adequate Intake) are the amounts of a vitamin or mineral we need to stay healthy and avoid nutritional deficiencies. They are given to women, men, and specific age groups.

    • The UL (Tolerable Upper Intake Level) is the maximum amount of daily vitamins and minerals that we can safely take without risking an overdose or serious side effects.

"There was no suggestion of harm from the supplements"

"Taking Multivitamins With Minerals May Lower Risk of Breast Cancer Coming Back
    "

But the Previous studies of multivitamins and cancer have had conflicting results.

This study was presented at a medical conference. The findings should be considered preliminary as they have not yet undergone the "peer review" process.
Researches continues.........let us hope for best.
