Following are the steps to do facial at home:

    Step 1: Cleanse the Skin
To cleanse the skin, you can choose cleanser of the same brand that your beautician uses in the parlor. But the cleanser should be according to your skin type. To cleanse your skin, first rinse your face and neck with luke warm water. Apply a dot of cleanse on your forehead, cheeks, chin, and neck. Start massing your face and neck in circular motion. Do it for 1-2 minutes. Cleanse properly around your nose and chin.

Rinse your face and neck with a warm washcloth.

    Step 2: Exfoliate
Exfoliate means to scrub your skin to remove the dead skin. Apply a gentle exfoliating facial scrub in a circular motion on your face. Now using your fingers, scrub your skin around your nose, forehead, then cheeks, and chin.

Use a simple washcloth soaked in warm water to rinse your face. The washcloth itself acts as a natural exfoliant.

    Step 3: Steam
There are several ways to steam your face. You can fill your sink with warm water, dip a washcloth in and press to your face repeating 2-3 times or you can take a steamer, bend your face towards the steamer by covering your head with towel.

    Step 4: Massage
After cleansing and exfoliation, now it’s time to give massage your skin. Choose a suitable massage cream or gel, and massage your skin in circular motions. Massage by creating “8” around your both the eyes. Using your fingers, lift the cheeks upwards while massaging. Massage on your neck and forehead also. A good massage increases the blood circulation in your facial area which reduces wrinkles and pigmentation, making the skin looks young and radiant. It also softens your skin and tones the facial muscles.

    Step 4: Apply a Mask
For oily skin, use a clay-based face mask. For dry skin, go for a hydrating gel or cream mask. You can also use home made face pack instead.

Apply the mask, avoiding the areas around the eyes. Keep it on for 10-20 minutes (or, according to the directions on the product). Rinse completely.

    Step 5: Moisturizer
This is the final step of facial. Apply a good moisturizer on your skin. If you have normal dry skin, you can use cream based moisturizer. For oily or somewhat oily skin, use gel based moisturizer. Leave it on your skin for some time, to let skin cell absorb it.

Hope these steps helps to have a good facial at home.
