If you are so happy Why are you so sad You have what you always wanted Yet you feel bad You are beautiful You are trim You have good height You are slim Yet what is lacking in your life Is it because you never became Someone's wife You have job You have income On the weekends you Go someplace and have fun Why are you so sad Is it that you are repenting For doing something so bad Your neighbors invite you for cake You make them your famous milk shake But at the end of the day Couples go home hand and hand But you don't need a man You know how to take a stand If you are so happy Why are you so sad If you have beach view Of your swanky condo Why do you feel so mad Did someone says something wrong Did someone strike a bad chord Of an old, re-run outdated song Did someone step on your eggshell Did someone make a comment Did someone do something so revolting To make you vomit If you are so happy Why are you so sad If people call you beautiful Certainly, you feel glad Don't you want someone to call your own Don't you want someone to call you their Warmth, hearth, and home If you are so happy Why are you so sad If you are so sad Is it too late to turn Back the hands of time And to pursue what You wish you truly had
Sometimes the best poetry comes from unexpressed pain. We all suffer pain Once we outgrow pain we leave Mother Earth's arms And go to Higher Consciousness
@SuiDhaaga Wow! Well put. I am sure all of us have been there, done that, at some time, in some form or fashion. The way I see it, Happiness and Sadness are two sides of the same coin. When I am Sad I am happy because I know if I am in sadness, happiness must be around too like day and night. If I am in the middle of the night, I know I am closer to Sunrise. And when I am happy I try to make the most of it and be as happy as happy can be because I know if I am in happiness, sadness must be around too I might as well enjoy while it lasts without worrying about when it's gonna end. It's just a game called life, we will be fine as long as we don't attach ourselves or identify too much with either of them as neither of them is permanent. Maybe that's what you meant when you mentioned Higher Consciousness. I know, easier said than done but all I am saying is, it's doable Another way of making this happen that I recently learnt from a Whats App forward was the *5 essential "C"s for life*, as below: Don't criticize Don't cry Don't complain Don't compare Give compliments
This is great advice. Hard to follow, but doable as you mentioned. How easy it is to fall into the trap of one of the C's. You are right, happiness and sadness are two sides of the same coin. When one is awake, the other is asleep.
Absolutely right. A spinster can make herself seem happy on the outside, perhaps young and vivacious. Inside she is crying.
