Ideas Required to conduct a school event

Hi All,

I am working in a software company.
We formed as a volunteer group and are planning to conduct a sports event in one of the school run by NGO.

We divided children into 5 groups.
Group1--LKG,UKG
Group2--1st,2nd classes
Group3--3rd,4th classes
Group4--5th,6th classes
Group5--7th to 10th
We need to conduct few outdoor games to the children

We are planning Running Race,SackRace,Lemon and Spoon,Kabaddi,Co Co
based on their age.
We are still thinking on what can be conducted for Group1 and Group2 kids(LKG,UKG,1st and 2nd class kidz) .

We are also thinking to gift them something which is useful like dictionaries,some good books.

Can you please come up with few ideas on what games can be conducted to those kids and also what useful gifts can be given to them.
If any one had prior experience on conducting such events,Please share your experience on how to control the kidz and how to take care about them.

hi,
my son is in class 1 .few mths back they had a sports event.the kids of different groups were placed into the four corner of the playground & very separately managed & monitored by class teachers........
for the small kids group they had 50 m race,sack race ,grab the sweet race(a sweet was hung by thread & kids were made to jump & try to grab with mouth without touching) ,relay race,ball throw(tennis ball thrown as far as possible by kids),leg tie race(two kids made to run with their one leg tied to each other),long jump,high jump,hula hoop jumping race................
in between the events the kids very given water break 4 times & snack break once.
when the kids were resting & other group was playing the resting kids had puppet show,paintings competion & then few kids recite poems.........

as it was school function winners earned points for their respective houses otherwise the kids were very excited to get ribbion for winning(different colour to distinguish 1st ,2nd ........)

also,as soon as the small kids events were finished they were allowed to go home & not wait for older kids to finish (who already were doing their competition on other side of ground)
