I pray to thee my Lord to give me patience like the earth for it endures all the injuries that man commits on its surface. I pray to thee My Lord to give me the quality of purity Like water which is pure and transparent and flows down with humility make me free from selfishness, lust, egoism, anger and greed. I pray to thee my Lord to give me detachment, Like the air which moves through various objects But has no attachment to the places or things, I pray to thee my Lord to give me equilibrium , Not to be affected by temptations, troubles and difficulties. like a mountain that stands still through rough weather.
Dear Smt. Srinivasan: What a delightful read this is with a cup of coffee in the morning! Reading this, gave me wonderful insight. I aspire for all of these qualities and now I know against which I need to benchmark these qualities. There are umpteen examples like this in the nature and I missed seeing them all for years. Trees that let go of fruits so that the seeds can be taken away by the river elsewhere to create a new family. I learned to compare that with the adult children moving out of the nest.
Madam sister mrs. Srinivasan, Patience , purity, equilibrium & detachment all those you have already by your declaration of going on VANAPRASTHSRAM IN THE CITY - a concrete jungle - INSTEAD OF FOREST. There their would be no temptations, troubles but difficulties could be no matter what the whether is. A beautiful prayer woven thoughtfully essentially about detachment. But then I wonder, what I will do after attaining all these objectives! Thanks and Regards.
