I pray to Thee, my Lord!

I pray to Thee, my Lord.​

I pray to thee my Lord to give me patience,
like the earth for it endures all the injuries
that man commits on its surface.

I pray to thee My Lord to give me the quality of purity,
Like water which is pure and transparent and flows down with humility,
make me free from selfishness, lust, egoism, anger and greed.

I pray to thee my Lord to give me detachment,
Like the air which moves through various objects
But has no attachment to the places or things,

I pray to thee my Lord to give me equilibrium ,
Not to be affected by temptations, troubles and difficulties.
like a mountain that stands still through rough weather.

Dear Sriniketan,
Thank you for agreeing with me that we could merge with nature if we acquire these fine qualities.
I feel the most difficult one to practice is detachement. The second one is patience. Though I make a resolution not to lose patience at times it seems quite difficult.
So I am praying to the Lord to bestow me these qualities.

Dear Sriniketan,
You are still young and you have duties and responsibilities and so it is difficult to practice these two qualities. When children stand up on their own feet and leave the nest, then only you can think about it. So do have patience till then. Chanting the Lord's name at those times will be definitely helpful!
