I love the way he looks at me
    With his bright black eyes
I love it when he kisses me
And talks of the things he likes

Making a milkshake or his favourite cake
    Gives me immense pleasure
    For I’m sure he’ll devour it saying….
I loved it and I love you too mother

I love it when he rushes to me
    With school stories galore
Stories of his friends and foes
    And tiffinboxes with delicious toasts

    I listen and savour
This childhood phase of his immensely
For, I know only too well
That this phase like all else is temporary

    Soon he’ll enter manhood
And with his new found responsibilities
    Memories of his childhood
Would ( for him) become a distant memory?

    But for me- MOTHER…..
It will be etched in memory for a lifetime
    And I will be ever-longing
To just hear him say “I love you mother”I

    Dear Sathyavenkat,
If this is your own poem, great! Bow

You have brought out in simple expressions, how we enjoy our children's stay with us ! Once they leave our nest, it is only memories that we will carry life long ! They are too busy with their own lives, understandably.
Still we love to talk about their younger days !
    Love,
    Chithra.

    dear sathya,
you remind me of a poem by a mother in hindi during my 10th and she also described a little like yours, it is amazing what all you can put here, and anything is not enough to show the joy that you get while looking at your child clinging to you begging you to be the companion of a phase he and you both would cherish,in that hindi poem she says
why i need to see the world your
    eyes are sun and moon
why i need a kashi yatra
when you can wet me here and give me the bliss,
why i need to look the beauty
your smile can give it all, and it goes on the rapport of a child and mother one cannot bring it into words..each one is a beauty of its own,, very nice here are the words..sunkan

Wow, Sathya , yet another gem! You bring it all out in such simple form, the love of a mother and also the acceptance when he will not be there anymore as our Child.....
Well i can vouch and say the same goes for girls, i mean daughters.....only difference, since they are would be Mothers , they still can and do show and say their love more eloquently then a son!
But lovely poem.....keep tehm coming! All the very best!
