Music is one thing which everyone loves to listen. Earlier there were only Radios to hear music. Early morning in some channels wecan here bakthi sangeeth. I used to love listening to Binaca Geeth Mala which used to come on every Wednesdaya. Also the Aap ki pasand songs which used to come in Vividh Bharathi. Now we have CDs , so can select whatever songs we like and hear them. Early morning listening to Bhakthi songs is a nice way to start the day and whole day goes very smoothly
Very true. Even in my childhood days, the day started with the Bhakti Songs played in AIR. Those songs are so soothing to ears. But now a days i miss them much, as those songs are hardly played today. Moreover the newly started FMs are competing with one another, somewhere i find the quality has gone. Not like the old AIR. I was able to get the CDs of those songs and slokas which i heard during my childhood days and in my house, every morning starts with it. The "Inroru sindhanai" by thenkachi K. Swaminathan though lasted only for 5 minutes, has made many to wait, listen, think and laugh. The Sernthisai, Siruvarsolai... today's children are missing much because of Nick, cartoon... etc. etc.
yes you are right dear! i love to watch subrabatham in TV early morning! very divine we feel!:thumbsup
Very true vijima, nowadays we are not listening to music that really chills us, except some which are expectionally well. As you say I do prefer songs or slokas in the morning which makes me feel the day comfortable and good.
Balamurli Krishna's music serial in DD viz. Swara Raga Sudha and Raga Sudha Rasa i can never forget in my life. I was so mesmerised and eagerly every week i waited for the programme. My uncle was a music lover and he had taken membership in all the music sabhas in chennai. He and me used to eagerly wait for that programme as it was the first and one of that kind in DD of those days. I used to note the date, the singer who performs that day, the raga, song, etc.. He had a wonderful collection of carnatic songs in audio cassette form and he never slept a day without hearing them, till he breathed his last. He is still having a special place in the hearts of our family members. He passed away 19 years ago.....this thread has brought me those wonderful nostalgic moments. Thanks viji mami.
Dear Meera Glad to know that your uncle was a music lover and by this thread I could bring you his memories and the love of music he had. From your post can make out howmuch you love music love viji
