    fencesitter, no i would not say never. as a mom of two teenage kids, i should be honest, there are a lot of times when i am the coolest mom and my husband the coolest dad to them. you cannot be the coolest all the time..and as a parent i know my limitations and the problems,limits my children face too..

    Thank you for stopping by....hmm...we can try to be their best buddy but how well it goes down with them is something which would differ from household to household, individual to individual .
    We can't be cool as cucumber and dance to all their tunes, if the melody suits us, then why not???...we may enjoy the dance as well.

    Howzz your day??/...thank you for posting.
    My friends go into a fit of laughter when they see that I am no longer the "coolest girl (mom)".....and my Dh who used to be the college hero is no longer the coolest dad!!!!!...thats life!!!

    Dear Megalife,

    You know the surprising comment we get from our kids , when we try to be cool ???
    You guys are not acting to your age...........

    When , me and my husband try to deprecate our selves , they say ....
    Don't be a FOB .......

    So , either way , cool or uncool , we parents get beaten up.......

    Well written...You can consider me as one of these uncool mom's. I have left my kid completely from the time he was in grade 8 I use to be only watch him from the background that if he is studing or not, is he up to something which he shouldn't do it just sit and speak to him and i had drew a line everyway necessary. Giving him full freedom to make his own decisions. If someway he makes any mistake guide him accordingly. This will help the kids in future to make the right decision and realise what is wrong and right. Not against his entertainments or having fun but everything has a certain limits and will never allow him to cross that limit.
    At one stage we do become uncool mom's but when they start making they own decisions they will realise the real truth.
    These are all the tricks of parenting..........
    Today he has realised what life is, he knows everything cannot be fed with a silver spoon.....
    I always get to hear my mom is the coolest..............:)
    I feel that is a reward for the mom's.
