I am also planning for IVF with ICSI in March-April time frame. I am trying to reduce my weight, as with injections we may result in increase in weight. So as now trying to keep my mind and body prepared for this procedure.

I would also like to hear from other sisters here.

Suni..where are you planning to do this procedure. Take care of yourself.

    hi suni and happy person...

i did IVF/ICSI in November 2012 and there is nothing in particular that you can do to achieve success but definitely do whatever it is that will keep you calm and relaxed! i KNOW that this is SO frustrating but just take one day at a time! follow through the treatment protocol, taking meds and shots, etc. and perhaps try some meditation or listen to some relaxation music to give your body and mind some time out!

wishing you both baby dust and GOOD LUCK! do keep us posted! :)

    take care,

    Hi PPC

Thank You for your reply! I am trying to keep myself calm but sometimes you know how your emotions play with you. Looks like you are also in US. Can you please let me know where you did your IVF?

Can you please let me know if these shots are given on hands or stomach?

Suni - All the best for your cycle! Take care.

    Hi Suni,

You will need bed rest after the embryo transfer. You will also need to rest after egg retrieval as you'll have some mild cramping. Your endocrinologist should recommend that you take the day off for when you are going through embryo transfer and the following 1-2 days. After that, you can do some routine work but nothing strenuous like no house work, etc! I would milk the situation and take advantage to watch tv and read books!

    Hope this helps!

Take care and do keep us posted on your progress,

    Hi there Happy Person!

I'm in Kansas! Where are you?

Oh believe me...i COMPLETELY understand how emotions play with us!! :)

The early injections were all around my abdomen/stomach area. You had to switch sides every day so you'll need to jot down which day and which side you had the shots. After egg retrieval, you will need progesterone shots which will be on your buttocks! :) Those ones DID NOT hurt compared to the abdominal ones! Are you administering these shots yourself or is your husband giving them to you?

    Take care,
    PPC

    Hi Luvlyroses,

I'm not prego. We did an IVC cycle in November but it failed. We are planning for the 2nd cycle around June 2013.

PLEASE don't let this bad news bring ANY ONE OF YOU down! It's just part of the process!!

    Take care,
    PPC
