    I was blessed

Since two days There is heavy rain in Vaikom and water everywhere in our garden and on the way to temple. Since plucking flowers with umbrella in hand is difficult I told my sin in law I want a raincoat he immediately gave but he said your saree won't be seen .I told him it's alright. Usually when I was in Mumbai everyone used to appreciate my sarees. When I was traveling by contract busbsone ladies used to go for walking. One day they told me we wait to see everyday what saree you are wearing. When I came to Kerala I thought Noone would notice but one office going lady told me your saree is very nice and you looking gracious. Then yesterday where I go to pluck flowers her daughter told me nice saree but why you are wearing in rains. I told her.so many sarees are there and they r sleeping in my cupboard.

Now let me come to today's experience. Sarees means I love them. Today my son in law came with me as there was lot of water on the way . I had worn the rain coat so it was easy to pluck but could not pluck musmch as heavy rain started. So little only I could pluck.
Then went to temple there also water was there and maid helped me. I wanted to do pradarshanam but suddenly my leg slipped was about to.fall but Devi blessed me otherwise all would have shouted. Once before akso I had fallen in this temple and maid and another mama lifted me he is no more.

Since less flowers I did archana to Ganeshji with.Vibudhi.

    Dear Viji ma!
Thank you for your invitation to reply ! I always think of you when I think of peaceful retirement!
My first thought when I read the post was - Please take care not to fall anywhere! It is difficult to recover.

My next thought was that Devi took care of you instantly - how? She was in ready position!
I remember when my son was 7 months old! He could stand with a wall's support but he didnt know how to sit! He would just leave the wall and fall down and get his head hurt... We used to laugh at his antics but for the 2 weeks till he realized that he could sit down, I would always stay behind him, with my hands outstretched, so that he doesnt get hurt!
In my mind, this was the scene I imagined with you - when you were falling, Devi was in ready position to hold you

May she always protect you, Viji ma!

A “MA” dear to all IL’ites your jottings gave a soothing effect to readers. A feather-touch to worried or depressed souls.

Like your own daughter, @hrastro responded as usual crisply.
As suggested by her, you got to be circumspect like a hunter in forest especially when you are on in your morning stroll.

Saree gorgeous but not good to wade through flooded paths and while it rains. I remember i wrote in response to your thread about saree that fetched monthly FP.
Enjoyed your jotting with bid concern as usual. Less flower for Archana is a concern. But then your Ganesha won’t mind it.
Krïsnā says pure devotion pleases him with out any ostentation. Spoonful of water with thulasi (basil) offering is always acceptable to Him.
    Regards.

Thank God, all is well. Take care. I liked your 'sarees sleeping in the cupboard' remark. Most of us at an advanced age have little time to go out frequently. I for one, am using all my shirts and trousers at home always ready to go nowhere.

    My dear Viji @iyerviji
What an exquisite piece of writing! As Hariji @HariLakhera has pointed out, the sarees sleeping in the cupboard is a classic example of imagery! I always tell my wife that her sarees sleep in the cupboard longer than Rip Van Winkle! She has preserved all the sarees from the ones she wore for her wedding reception!
Thank you for such a vivid and beautiful description of the evening of our lives!
