    Dear All,

I would really really be grateful if u can lend me some help on my thyroid problem..

I was pregnant few months back and unfortunately miscarried at 7 weeks. After undergoing a D and C my periods were regular for 3 months. This month my period is 1 week late and i visited the gyn to take a blood test after my Hpt showed negative.. I was shocked when she told that im suffering from thyroid problem and bcos of this my periods are delayed. I was feeling cold, seems like my weight is increasing and sometimes i feel a pulse in my abdomen.i get extremely hungry and tired aftr 4 hrs though i have a filling breakfast. My hands shiver if i do not take my lunch after being hungry..

Im planning to meet a specialist soon. im so obsessed that i want to have a baby asap..I would like to know how long will the treatment before i try to conceive if anyone had the same problem. Will i have a healthy baby? I read somehwere that for Hypothyroidism we need to have lifelong medication. Is that true?

I think my thyroid level is 5.29..What should be the normal? What are the other health problems due to this?

Is there any special care in diet or exercise which i should follow? Are there certain food i shud omit.. I read few posts saying to avoid cabbage, soy etc.. Im a pure vegetarian but i wouldnt mind taking Non Veg incase if i have to bcos for me having a baby is soo important that i wud anything to have a baby asap.

Don't worry dear ,even I have the same problem,I have hypothyroidism. It is common in women .

I am on medication from last 9 months. First my TSH level was 32 ( Normal .3 to 5) ,then doctor prescribed 100 Mg thyroxine tablets ,after 2 months TSH is reduced to .2 , then tablets was 75 Mg thyroxine.

After that consulted an endocrinologist *(before was consulting a Physician) ,and he advised me to continue 75 Mg thyronorm tablets. In between tested TSH and it was 4.6 , after that I couldn’t take my tablets for some days (was not well for few days and busy with my tight schedule) Now my thyroid level is 11 and I am taking 100 Mg Thyronorm. All because of my fault.
One of my Friend told me that if we miss 2 days tablets also I can affect TSH level. So be very careful.

Don't be panic ,we can also conceive. Don’t listen to some stupid comments.

Consult a good endocrinologist . Take tablets in empty stomach in the morning. Never ever forget to take tablets. It is very important .Drink lots and lots of water.

Avoid or reduce use of cabbage , Broccoli ,Cauli flower or Gopi ,Peanut ,Dairy Product and Soya products.

    This is all I know.

    Please update me with progress

don't worry if you have thyroid. Please take the thyroid medicine with the diet which is for controlling thyroid. Please take lotus stem juice with previous day's starch in empty stomach every day , also please take fenugreek leaves juice of 2 tbsp daily and add green green leaves and green gram in your diet.

Hello jaaisu, I have thyroid problem too. I found out before my marriage and i am taking my medicine for nearly 10 years now. You HAVE to take the medicine without fail regularly and you will be back to your normal health but never stop the tablet and take regular thyroid tests [once in 6 months or a year, as your doctor advises] I have two babies - normal, active, intelligent kids. So dont have negative thoughts like not conceiving. As long as you take the prescribed medication, you will be alright. All the best ^_^

thanks parvathy.. I met the endocrinologist.. I was asked to take 50 mg of levothyroxine and asked me to come back in jan.. They said 5 was not a big problem but i need to bring it down in order to get conceive..

I have been taking for nearly 2 weeks and feel little better now ...But my periods are still gettng delayed and ovulation isnt happening properly.. My gyn says the thyroid cud be the culprit.. So she asked me to come back next year aftr i meet the endo...

    Dear Jaaisu,

I was in similar situation 13 years ago. I miscarried and then it was discovered it was because of hypothyroid. Within 6 months after this incident I became pregnant again and delivered a healthy baby. As long as you take the prescribed medicine regularly you will be fine. its just that you will have to take this for the rest of your life. But you will have no issues conceiving and your baby will be perfectly healthy.

    Good luck!!

Hypothyroidism is my problem too. It does not effect anything but our metabolism , it slows down so we feel tired.
I take my medicine before i go to bed and it is working good I feel. Mornings I am used to a cup of tea so I made this change. Coming to conceiving no problem with it but you have to let your doctor know for definitely during pregnancy your hormone requirement will increase so accordingly doctor will increase your dose and the result safe and healthy baby in your arms :)

small suggestions to all of you please talk to your doctors about calcium supplements... for this particular medicine hits on the calcium inside our bodies:(

    Dear Ladies,

Thanks all.. Im @ little ease after reading ur comments.. I'd also like to know if u have problems with eyes and teeth.. Im not sure if its due to thyroid or some other problem.. From past 1 week my teeth has become very sensitive and i cant explain how it is ..I feel like pressing against my lower jaw very tightly ..Lookss like i chewed some metal ..and my eyes very very tired after proper sleep and i feel like its swollen (But Its just a feeling when i look into the mirror it apperas normal ).A gritty feeling...
I feel very depressed at times.. My abdomen feels swollen.. My belly was not very flat from my childhood though i was very thin that time.. But now when someone sees they ask me if im pregnant though im not.. Feel like cryng when someone asks me like that...I look like 3-4 months pregnant lady.... I feel my diet has no much effect on my weight..I rarely take fried foods and no much fatty things..Somehow gaining weight especially on my thigs and abdomen.

I want to go to gym to exercise but the last time i went to gym i felt sick with fever and was extremely tired as if i had been running whole day though i did only a very light in the first day..
