Why is Paes not happy with Vishnu? He thinks Vishnu is a still a kid...didnt that kid earn a silver for India @ 2010 Asian games? Again is that Paes' attitude? Why is Sania venting out? They wanted in written that she pairs with Paes in mixed. Her opinion it is a humiliation to sportswomen even in this 21st century. And then many other sportswomen who faced such humiliations.. PT Usha was asked to share a room with 4 other athletes during a sports event. And many more. Is Sania's outburst justified? Was she really humiliated?
The fact that Sania kept quiet till she got her wild card entry certainly raises doubts on whether she actually felt humiliated or she was just waiting for the right moment to create some noise. In any case she could not have been paired earlier bcoz she was waiting for her wild card so dont know what the fuss was all about from her side. Also, the Tennis Association never asked her to give anything in writing - it was only Leander's dad who wanted a commitment from her. As if she really would commit to anything in writing ! I dont know what's with her "damsel in distress" attitude. There are so many other lesser known sportswomen who really get a bad deal in a Sports body run by men. Those poor things dont get nominated to International events on time, dont get paid or recognised suitably for their feats and have to manage with limited facilities. Sania has everything working for her. Anyways, I feel all of them behaved like jokers and created a scene on national tv. If they are representing India, they should be willing to play with whom so ever they are paired with. Bonding doesnt mean anything in the Indian context - Lee n Hesh were winning titles even when they were no longer buddies while Sania n Hesh crashed out in the initial rounds even though they claimed to have greater camaraderie. So, I guess all of them need to behave more like players n less like VIPs !!! love, kylie
Pinky Pramanik. International female athlete from India. Won many 400m relays. Now alleged of rape by a female friend. Undergone gender test. Not once but thrice. Chromosome test done @ Hyd. Everyone is awaiting results. Results are not yet declared, but she was put in a female prison only after intervention from Women's right wing. Why does a simple gender test take so much time? Its been like 20 days or so since the allegation. Is this purposely being complicated? Where is this whole thing headed to? Aren't gender tests done before participating in an international event? (She is even alleged of bribing the docs to hide her gender) Wasn't her gender known then? Even if there is any amount of truth in the allegations, shouldn't Pinky be handled in a more respectful way? After all, she did win many medals to our country. Added to these woes was this 29sec mms that had gone viral. And how about the so called rape victim? Why was she silent all this while? Why was the gender thing not disclosed earlier? Was this victim actually tested for rape? Whats your say on this?
