Right now there’s a huge teacher shortage so it may not be difficult to get a job. But it can be a demanding position for low pay. Teachers in my kid’s daycare are quitting left and right. Paras serve many roles in schools. Contact your local school district and they will be able to guide you.
If you are really passionate about the kids then it's good matching for you but it's low pay. For sure as a mom we will enjoy the work and better than computer job. Check your local district there are many openings now especially after care too.

They work in the special Ed classroom. Follow the Teacher's guidelines. Work with the kid.as per the goals. Provide support in the classroom
No, it’s a hands-on job. You will work with special needs kids and those that require more support in school. The exact duties will depend on the needs.
My friend works as a substitute teacher and some times she goes for special needs class room also. She likes to go and help the main teacher there. As she shared some incidents it is very very demanding job, I feel she has some quality in her, all can't do it.
