    Hi friends!

I have a wonderful light cotton saree that whenever I wear I always regret. When it rubs against itself the layers of cotton stick together and doesn't move/flow so nicely.

Anyone have any remedies to keep cotton from bunching and sticking to itself?

Thank you for all your input!

You could try spraying it with static guard which is available at most retailers in the US with the laundry supplies. You could also starch it very heavily before pressing.
Some cotton sarees are just prone to sticking to themselves-my Pochampalli and Orissa sarees tend to do this, except when heavily starched.

    Hi,
To have a good fall of cotton sari, needs starching it once or twice a yr if u wear it occasionally and more on regular basis. There r two kinds of starch i generally make to use for my cotton sarees and dresses.
    1.Starch from cooked rice.
    2.Sabudana starch.

The second one makes clothes very stiff and i find it very effective even after 2 washes after i starched it.For 100gm of sabudana i add 3-4times water and pressure cook it and once its cool stain it twice with a muslin cloth(any old cotton duppata would do).For the extract i futher dilute and use.To give good fragrance to the clothes i put in some ittar or 'comfort'.
The rice starch is easy and effortless but it stays for less time compared to sabudana starch.
Sabudana starch keeps clothes soft and less patchy.
I add blue (whitener)and ittar to the starch mixed water for whites and exclude whitener for colored clothes.
and press them with a steam iron.
    bye!

I have noticed very less patchyness of dark clothes while doing it with sabudana rather than with rice or commercial starch pow.
The sabudana starch is strained twice and again diluted checking the consistency.probably this reduces the dull look.
And believe me once starched, the effect stays atleast 2-3 washes.
