    Hi Deepa,

    I Use two Ways

    1. If you are lazy you can try the below

After the regular wash, Wash it in Revive mixed Water.

    2. If You have more time, Just try the below:

Powder the Sago ( Javarasi). Boil Water and Put this Powder and Stir Well. It Comes in a form of Semi Solid. Pour the Mixture in the Bucket full of water. Dilute the mixture so that it mixes well with water. After the ordinary wash, wash the clothes in the mixture. This method can be done for alternate Wash. The dress will be very stiff.

    Regards

    Sugi

    Hi Deepa,

I understand your passion for cotton clothes, I used to have only cotton clothes while I was working but after moving to US the maintenance was so tough that I let go of it!!!

I used to follow the lazy method that Star83 mentioned :)!!!

I havent heard about the sago method though, but it sounds kewl too!!!

My Mom usually accumulates the cotton clothes for a week or so!!! She cooks rice in a large vessel (the old style) not in cooker then she retains the water from the boiled rice, meanwhile She soaks and washes the cotton clothes in cold water and then turns them outside in (if it were a blouse, kurta, Chuddi or cushion head covers) while the rice water cools off she add a lil cold water to it and dips the clothes a couple of times; squeeze the excess water and dry them in shade!!!

You can press them the outside in so the color doesnt fade with the excess heat from the iron...

    Hi,
I maintain my cotton dresses by using strach spray from walmart. It is very easy to use and it gives nice stiffness.
You just have to spray and iron the dress. It can be found on detergent section.
