Gold of 24 carat (from reputed bank) bought around 10 yrs back has appreciated by value nearly 3 times. The same cannot be said of the future with the presentrate of gold. The gold bond scheme is now open for subscription upto December 28th. U can read up the FAQ as suggested by Shanvy. Seems a good scheme, only lock in period is around 8 yrs. But actual increase in value will only happen over long term, so it seems a safe and good option for investment.
