I have completed a course with an agency and was told they will help me find a job but unfortunately they didn’t ..which was anyways expected. However..manual testing jobs seems to need years of experience and I don’t have any..how to get one? My friend who didn’t do the course got one through her husband .A work from option also. She said since her husband was based in an Indian company Easy for her to get. I don’t know anyone who can help me and my hubby also does not know anyone.. No amount of applying is getting me a job.. Should I lie in my resume? I don’t know how to secure a job in this field..
share your steps. what and how are you applying. yes first job is tricky. cannot go by book. also why did you not consider development. everyone considers testing, thinking it is easy to get into. (sorry not pointing you). but testing has very less job openings . 1 QA is shared among projects. share more details what you have done so far. which sites you applied. i cannot help, but hope this becomes a dual discussion to collaborate and hope that helps u
I did a testing course few years ago. Yes, you are right. Companies need experience. Everyone who paid and completed the course put in a good 2 to 3 year experience with that same institute. Thankfully since I had a background in tech, I could get a job but people came from unique backgrounds and no experience and would have had a tough time if they didn't do it. But to that institutes credit, they had a LLC and a fully functioning company. They even gave phone no of people that could verify the job and give glowing recommendations. Many people I know initially put in verifiable experience (especially if they have gaps in career) to show no gaps. Same people eventually took out that so-called experience once they actually gained a few years of work experience. P.S. I now have a decade of break in career and no amount of applying seems to do the trick despite my having a very impressive educational background. I totally get you but then it is what it is. Companies need experienced people but no company is ready to give that experience.
Automation testing has more openings. For manual testing companies don't hire people these days.It is listed as one of the responsibility of automation team.Try to add more tech certification to your resume.I was into manual QA but then it was a struggle to get calls and eventually I switched to other career path.
I am struggling to get a job too. I have a huge career gap and finding hard to fit in. I did a certification recently in the updated technology but they are looking for experience in it. I worked on IT development before. Trying hard to refresh those technology along with new updated tech. Which agency did you consult for the courses?
