I know USA specialists are best in world and Patients are fools for prolonging surgery

Once Doctors give reassurance “I can do this with my eyes closed”, only then patient is in safe hands

Exocet that a 2 yr old girl was butchered in surgery by USA specialists who covered up

If Hospital doesn’t give damn about 2 years old girl, why would they give damn about 80 year old!

    Why wasn’t this national news!

:hello:If deaths account for a preponderance after a particular surgery in an hospital, then probability of survival after sucessful surgery can be termed as less. Hospitals won’t give those figures and if statutorily they are demanded, even then figures would be fudged!

We see couple of failures in every sphere but it doesn’t mean that one should not venture to availing those services or attempt to redo it.
Apollo mission failed. But it did succeed in its mission afterwards.

Putin’s Mother was declared dead when she was carrying Putin in her womb. It was around World War II. A kin of that lady fought and got permission To collect the body from morgue. When the kin reached the morgue, to her astonishment she found the body stirred and it was full of life. Now rest is history. Putin is now on war of invasion!

The famous New York hospital was sued by late Indian Koli and Bollywood actress Sri Devi for performing surgery on her mother on the wrong part of brain.**

Even after facing the wrath and suit of late actress Sridevi in 1997-98, the New York Hospital still going on. The hospital performed wrong surgery for tumour in brain of actress’
mother Rajeshwari Ayyappan. For more information read in the link below.*

There is no specification for confirming the quality of a product of medical services as in manufacturing. They themselves not one hundred % sure of the success of their effort ; that’s why they take signature in a pre printed undertaking from close relative of patient that they the hospital will not be held responsible for any wrong doing or failure of the surgery!

Hospitals can’t give any guarantee or warranty. Patient has got to be lucky always.

    Eventually everything decided by destiny.

Be positive think positive act positive is the only way to go ahead.
One has to have faith and proceed.

The baby had stage 4 liver cancer.
    It's a very severe condition.
One of my friend died of liver cancer in spite of getting the best treatment in Singapore.

The parents have to do their due diligence before deciding on the team and hospital. They should consult more doctors and do their research.
The said hospital didn't force them to do the surgery there.

the five-year survival rate of liver cancer patients among males is 2.2%, while for women, this is 4%. In general, this comes down to about 3%.Liver cancer is one of the most common deadly cancers in the world

It’s not fair to entirely blame the parents.
I work in a children’s hospital. We often see babies as young as a few months come in with serious conditions such as cancer. The plight of those parents is something I would not wish on my worst enemy.
Not all of the families are savvy, well-to-do or highly educated. Many of them sincerely believe their doctors are looking out for their best interests and trust them to do the right thing.
In the case the OP mentioned the hospital and the doctors failed the family. They should never have taken her case on and instead sent them to a pediatric speciality hospital.

In the case of my Uncle, he has so many painful conditions he wants to treat before going for second opinion to another Cardiologist.

And he is more concerned about paperwork paperwork paperwork

    I cannot blame him

I see so many threads here on family members fighting over the deceased person's belongings, having fights, etc.

On top of the tragedy of losing the loved one.

Also when family is rushed due to deadline (i.e. baby can die at any moment), are they able to think straight?

Are even the savvy, well-to-do or highly educated people able to think, let's slow down and get a second opinion?
