Im finding these crawling insects in dals etc. I cleaned a cupboard (I used to have chapati flour in it) on the first day of lockdown lets say March and put all our newly bought cereals oatmeal etc etc in there with onions.etc. I practically cleaned it down to put these items in there. It has been barely 4 months think the little fallen chapati flour attracted all these insects! THey are black and crawling. I'll post a video here. So just getting baffled on what is the regular required routine. There was one cereals box which expired in March 2020.. Cheerios but I guess we must have used teh new cheerios instead. But sooo many bugs? I'm confused.. Mainly how to get rid of them?

These bugs are big headache! Clean that cupboard thoroughly and throw away as much as possible before the bugs infest other items and even whole kitchen.

Even I am noticing the issue. I rarely get bugs, only if item is very old or unused for year or so. But now even though we’re cooking more than ever noticing bugs in some bags. Recently I bought rice. I usually keep 1 extra bag in reserve but in this covid times they are not allowing to buy more than 1. So luckily I opened it within 2-3 days and it was full of bugs. Exchanged it immediately.

I think all the unsold stock was just sitting in all the stores since March and got infected with bugs but is still being sold.

Now whatever we buy we are opening first and checking carefully. Esp check for sealed item. If seal is broken or taped don’t buy that.
