    Vivaha is marriage or entry into the second Asrama. The life of the householder begins.

    Now he takes up his duties as man and pays his spiritual debts by sacrifice, by study and by procreating children.

    The bridegroom tells the bride: “I take your hand for good fortune.” They walk round the sacred fire hand-in-hand.

    The bride sacrifices grains in the fire and prays: “May my husband live long. May my relations increase.”

    All of us has would have followed this during Vivaha ceremony....

    Now : Is this still practised during the course of life journey ??????????

    judging by population figures, the procreation part is being practiced with no problems. judging by all the various in-law queries, 'relations' also seem to increasing as they ought to...

    my expectation, is this vow being still practised by both the spouse in their course of their life journey to have a peaceful and sustained love and affection between them ??? and whether they live happily in the present living condition...

    Irrespective of going into the ashram or not, everybody wants their dh to live long don't they :bonk

    1. DH to live longer - I want him to outlive me and tolerate my nonsense as long as I live.

    2. Relations Increase - In the better sense - yes they do, the only question is whether they are properly maintained.
