    Hi Praveen,

Thanks for the Reply .. But just this weekend we took the admissions for my son in VIBGYOR. Yes I too had similar doubts if this school is more for rich kids but I got to talk to a teacher of DPS and a friend of her whose kid studies in 4th std in vibgyor. They gave very good feedback and the mother was very happy with the school .. After talking to them I made up my mind and closed on admissions.
With the number of flats coming up in marathahalli which is mostly of software crowd I feel this school will typically have their kids going to this school .. and very few NRI kids in the next 1 or 2 years.
Also we got to talk to teacher and director in vibgyor and we discussed in detail the curriculum and activities in LKG and UKG .. and I was kind of happy with what they said.

Anyways things may not be as told .. so I shall try for LKG and if need arises I may change school.

Regading Gopalan ..yes I too heard there are problems though i liked their new campus... NPS - nobody knows how the selection is ...

    Thanks,
    Priya

    Hi,

One of my colleague was considering admission for his daughter in VIBGYOR but he dropped the idea because it seems they still have to get permission for 10th std.

    Can anyone clarify this please?

    Hi,

My son is going to Vibgyor since June this year. He is very happy and I too dont have any major complaints. We had some small issues with bus but I believe this could be just a starting trouble and will get sorted out.

Regarding 10th std .. I am not too worried abt it as of now as my son is only LKG .. I believe school will get necessary permissions as I see there are already students in 8th std .. so after 9th where will they go ? I am sure parents of these kids will put required pressure on school.

Having said that I will wait for him to finish UKG and then will take a call ...

    Hi Prabha,
Some of the +ve points I see in LKG are:
They teach more of general stuff not just ABCD and 1,2,3
Like 1st month theme was seasons ... they talked abt seasons in gr8 details like clothes worn for a particular season ..fruits found in paricular season and so on .. they might have talked abt eskimos .. igloo and all bcoz I see my son talking abt it
2nd month the theme was body parts .. again they talked abt all body parts including brain ..heart ..lungs etc .. and healthy food , maintaining clean body etc etc

I like this approach and the workbook (activity book ) also I liked as there is a lot of drawing and colouring other than writing alphabets.

Anyways you can talk to more parents before taking a call.

Dear parents, if you wish to consider Vibgyor Bangalore as an option for your kids, please rethink! This school started off in 2007 with a lot of promises made, and its all eyewash. It is nothing but a commercialised business venture out to make quick bucks. They are making money on clothes, transport, canteen, extracurricular, even switch off the AC in the summer...

They are playing with the future of your kid's education. The curriculum does not match with ICSE, they have their own worksheets which are to be completed in class and home, and there is very little being taught in class. The teachers are too new and inexperienced freshers. They have poor interpersonal skills and do not know how to talk to children. The extracurricular activities are for name only, with only a few children given a chance to participate. The amount of homework is not funny. Class tests are held randomly and from any subject. The child will go crazy studying for tests daily. If you get this kind of life after paying through your nose, then better opt for a government school.

    Dear Insider,

    Can you pls elaborate ?
Which std is your kid studying in ?
What are the issues you are facing ?
Can you be a little more precise so this will help other parents also ...

When you say homework is not funny ..is it too much or too less ?

And regarding teachers and extracurricular activities ..can you pls explain why are you unhappy ?

    Thanks
