Hi, almost 2 months back my aunt's daughter was selected for Cognizant through on-campus recruitment. However she still does not have the joining date. We tried to find out more about this company and it seems that they have recruited many freshers from all over India and many havent received joining date yet. Is this normal in IT companies? How is the company Cognizant for freshers out of college. She will need to relocate far from her hometown for a training program of one year. Is it worth moving to far south from her home to join this company? Please share your opinions and any suggestions. Thanks
It is normal. Companies fix a target number of freshers to be on boarded based on future requirements and recruited. All cannot be absorbed in a single day or short period of time. Normally joining dates are given in batches and phases. It is the second biggest IT firm in India as of now and kick starting the career there is good. As a fresher location choices are limited and till you pitch in you need to be flexible. Choice is all yours. PS: just my 2 cents
