How big a break is yours?
After a 3 year long break, I did manage to get back to the working class but had to step down on my role...

Depends on the industry I would imagine. I guess if you have to take a break you have to take a break - if it is warranted such as taking care of a baby or an elderly person. It is a choice one must make. When you are ready to jump back into the career zone again, depending on after how long, so much may also have changed in terms of job market, skills, etc. It is a risk you must be willing to take after weighing your priorities.

Which industry were you in? If you were into software, and you have a valid work visa, 1 year is no big break and bouncing back should not be an issue at all. Im not sure about the other industries.

    Hey Malu,
This situation is dependent on many more factors like job market when ur ready to get back ,flexible on role and salary terms, previous work experience. I took almost 14 months break after my baby and got back to work. You just have be flexible(money/role) to get the first right job. Ofcourse be persistent in your search don't loose hope . Since you have kept yourself updated with certification u have a good chance to be considered.
    Good Luck

I was with IT, had to quit because of location constraint and I moved to US on L2. Husband's visa got extended and mine is getting extended too. I might have to apply for an EAD once I get it extended. So would take some more months - which would count to an year. I have done some certifications. However, worried about the gap.
