    wow..that was seriously ridiculous..
I had an ex friend like her who cannot understand why I discuss finances with my husband, not spending like her.She felt that my husband was controlling me coz I think twice before I buy.I cannot buy everything I see and I do discuss finances with my spouse.

Some people have their own thinking:)

When i was working , i had a good rapport and friendship with some of my colleagues of my age in my team. but after quitting my job they came to know that i didnt have any other job offer and unemployed. They cut off all ties with me as it was beneath them to maintain friendship with a non employed home maker.
for many its a status issue to have professionally successful friends for professional networking..i.e who can refer them to good companies for lucrative offers, who can discuss and give insider info about salary packages etc.
many look down upon unemployed ladies. i dont care for them now.

Thats the case with some female relatives in my in laws circle also..theyre in senior positions like manager, team lead etc..They earn like crazy ..living in luxurious well designed flats in prime locality, have all kind of helpers like nanny for kids, cook for all meals, maids for all chores, they send kids to top private schools , have vacations to foreign destinations etc..their husbands are so supportive in managing household and kids..theyre lucky enough to not live permanently with in laws (all of their in laws got bored of childcare duties when DILS work fulltime and opted to stay separately, visiting now and then only to help)..the amount they spend on designer clothes and jewelery for themselves and kids every month ( came to know from some source ) was enough to make me feel giddy..
ok they work hard and are well qualified and put efforts in their career..they earn well and live life as they want..im not jealous..
But the contemptuous and pitying and taunting way they would sometimes talk to me and look at me during family occasions , many times ignore me and pretend like i was non existent and maybe a different species who lacks ambition and is always free , was enough to make me lose my interest in attending such functions.

Again..the problem is with THEM and not you.You are always who you are no matter what they say.The only failure is when you stop being happy coz of them. You can get irritated as it is normal but do not give up on your happiness and health.Good luck.

I used to get annoyed by my relatives but I understood they will comment no matter what.Their job is to judge and comment and feel good about themselves but putting someone down.

How can someone feel good about themselves? Many try to find faults in others and feel better. It is an ego gratification.Really mature confident people will understand everyone has a way of life.

Again just coz people earn a lot does not mean they are super healthy or having an exotic life.Behind the scenes true story might be different. They might have their own set of problems.Everyone is happy and suffering their own way.

So it’s okay get irritated,we are human but do not give up.
