    Hi all,
This gonna be my kid's first summer break in US.. He is three and a half year old..he goes to a full time day care now. His day care have some summer camp for 2 months which we can opt for..its pretty expensive.
I would look for some other activities nearby. Would take him to library as they have some events.

I would like to know what u do in summer break? How do u engage kids and make them happy to enjoy the summer? Any input is appreciated as I don't know any other things/events/activities which can be done to engage them in summer.

    Thanks.

    This thread has some ideas:
Uncommon Summer Activities For Kids In U.s.

Until they are in elementary school (kindergarten), I think there is no big need for "summer camps" as such. They can go to the same daycare/preschool that they go in the school year. If that daycare has only expensive summer camps, then, try to find another daycare for the summer. Expensive summer camps make more sense when child is older. At 3.5 yrs, they are happy with blowing bubbles and a swing set.

Whichever place you choose, check how much time the kids spend outside. And if that area is shaded.
