I brought a dress for $32 dollars..I thought it is reasonable but not sure how many times I will wear it.. I know we buy according to our financial status but on an average is $32 dress costly? Usually for summer dresses or jeans how much are you willing to spend?
I buy everything on sale except for jeans and my work pants and suits. Prices vary but I don’t buy much. I get clothes that will last well and I don’t really follow trends.
What about the cost? My concern is if the amount I spend is average or low or high..just to get an idea
I think you mistook me..maybe I didn’t express it well..It’s Not about how much others are buying for.. I want to know the average cost of a dress What is low cost What is high cost so that I don’t overbuy it over splurge
I think anything decent on amazon or Kohls is $25 atleast. So no $32 is not a splurge. Our workplace allows a casual dress code. So most of the time I go for jeans and long tops/ business casuals. My shopping for daily workwears is mostly between the range of 25 and 50. 50 dollars is usually for some beautiful Indian kurtis. Once in a while I need some colorful kurtis to satisfy the Indian in me More than $50 dress shopping is so rare for me !
We buy according to occasion,weather etc..so for festival purchase I don't mind spending 5 k or plus for an ethnic wear.For work clothes again mostly branded ones.so there is no choice there.Daily wear kurthis,skirts,pyjamas I don't spend more than 1000 inr.There is no high or low cost.A plain cotton saree cost atleast 500 to 800 inr these days and blouse stitching is min 300 rupesh in villages or small towns.
When it comes to clothes, I have a frugal mentality. I buy most clothes on clearance as long as the material is good and it fits me well. I am neither picky about fashion trends nor color etc. Also clothes in US neither lose color nor shrink. Therefore, I will keep on wearing the clothes till my husband comments that his eyes will glaze over if he sees me wear that top one more time . I remember this one red color maternity dress that I had and wore during both my pregnancies. At the end of my second pregnancy, my husband was sooo frustrated of seeing that dress and extremely happy to see that dress go out of my home finally!!! Most of my pics during both my pregnancies are in that dress. (P.S. It was handed promptly to a pregnant friend who used it through her pregnancy )
