I want to watch a Hindi movie and it is available only on Hotstar. The Hotstar annual subscription is $49.99, no monthly option. Any way to watch that one movie for less? : )

The movie is "The Threshold" starring Neena Gupta.

A North Indian couple, in their early 60s, at their mountain retreat. Their son has just gotten married, a reception has ended and all the guests have left. She chooses this moment to tell her husband that she is leaving. What follows is an endless day: the avalanche of this long-gathering decision and what it means to a decades-long relationship. Fragments of conversations, silence and chaos, as nostalgia mingles with menace and tenderness with cruelty. What will they succeed in rescuing against the landslide of memory and emotion? I have a doubt [question in Indian English]:
One Indian relative has hotstar premium for ₨ 299 per month. Convenient for visitors who go there only a few months in a year.
Sort of close to a movie ticket price.

Could you use a VPN plug-in for a browser, pay the month subscription, and watch the movie?

Thanks. If it was just me, I'd try that. Better half is not very happy with using cc for VPN.

Actually, after posting the thread, I came to know that the upcoming England-India cricket series will be available only on Hotstar. So, got a subscription. Settled down to watch the movie with so much aasha and expectations. Kind of a damp squib. The couple don't argue properly. : ) : )

It was kind of amusing that when I was searching for discounts, I came across Hotstar subscription available from Costco online. : ) They offer 1 extra month free for the cost of the annual subscription. But the funny part was reading the description in costco.com:

    This:
I only saw the trailer. Of the two "arguing" in the living room and then sitting on a rock outdoors. I chalked up my feeling of disappointment to having been callus'd by foreign movies, and teledramas.
