Does marriage to a malaysian passport holder not give u a resident status:rantthis is weird....coz then u r deprived of all benefits even though u have given up ur country to be here permanently.....i hope this is only short term .....

Well then i guess for u preethi it is really tough to decide on which hospital to chose but as jas suggested mayb u can visit the family run gynea hospital for the time being n chk their facilities n charges before making a descision else i guess it is better if u go to ur mum's n deliver back home that way not only will u have better facilities in the hospital but also gud family care....needed most in these times:bowdown

    Sonu,

I do not get resident status here, I am supposed to complete 7 - 10 years of living here (excluding the number of days I have left the country on tour or visiting) After that only, I can even apply for the resident status(which I may or may not get immediately)

And the question of going to India for delivery is out of choice, because we are supposed to be permanent here, then my child cannot avail any benefits here like school etcetc and there are so many. So, my option is to check out QHC, as mentioned by Jas. I am happy to get atleast one offer that I can consider.

My friend had her pregnancy in Sunway and with some complications, her bill was 70000MYR and another one 100K.. that is way too much:bonk

I want my DH to be happy while the baby is born and live happily ever after. We should be prepared for everything as i do not want to be lying in pain in the hospital while my husband is worried about finances. Its a crucial situation.

Have seen the experiences of two friends who have paid a fortune and now unsatisfied, that is the reason of my query earlier. The other one is if your complications and risk is very high, then they might ask you to shift to GHKL or UKKM. Thats also really bad.

Now, QHC is the hospital I want to try. Lets see.:coffee

Ohh i think then more than the hospital u must look for a gud gyneac.....but im not sure of the procedure here if u can ask for ur gyneac to conduct the delivery n just use the facility of the hospital....if that is possible then :bowdown else u will have to choose the hospital with facilities for neonatal care also....this is a must when u deliver....just a option u must not neglect....not necesaary it will come to use....cross fingers n hope u dont have to but u must not ignore the need...

7 to 10 yrs is a long wait for citizenship after marrying a citizen:rant yet time flies ....chk on the GHC thingi in the meantime i will find out global doctors cost n let u know along with facilites when i go there

All will be well....n u will find one soon moreso since u have the time to figure out things i guess u r in an advantageous situation...

    :thumbsupSonu

Yes Sonu, I have enquired about QHC in my neighbourhood and its mostly a positive response. They have this package facility where it covers the medical checkups during the 10 months, medicines all tests and facilities.
Then the delivery part and also the new born care. So, this is ok.

There are two gynae there who are very good Dr.Subra and Dr.Ng.. Good reputation for them in my apartment people, then both are men. :bonk Is it ok to consult a male gynae, I feel:spin

Well its all about comfort level which is in the doc's hand to create sometimes even female doc's can be very gruesome in examination.....so as far as the doc reputation of being a gud gyneac is affirmed go ahead :thumbsup

    Gud things are happening:bowdown

    Sonu,

I met the doctor couple of QHC, it was by coincidence that we met on Diwali day in our relative's house. He was their family friend. That Dr.Subra of QHC is a very old man and very humorous.I felt very comfortable and now I think I like to go to QHC:thumbsup

His wife is also a doctor in QHC, an eye specialist. How I wish she was a gynea, then its easier for ladies:biglaugh

Hey dear Ils, I just wish to share a situation I faced recently in one of the clinics..

My relative was not well recently and had suffered for a day with vomit and stomach pain,we took her to the nearby clinic where a lady doc examined her and just pressed the patient's stomach so hard and asked her if it pains..

She said it pains, because it pains if you poke it so hard.

Then she said "oh, you are a diabetic patient and your stomach pains and you vomit.. so can be appendicitis!!!!" :spin Oh, my God.. Utter Nonsense..:rant

There was no tests, no scan nothing, simply a statement that it can be appendicitis, and go to a hospital..

If when I asked can we take a scan to see and confirm? She said not necessary you can just go straight to hospital and operate!!!:biglaugh

Later, after taking medicine tablets for antibiotic and vomit and dehydration she got well, and completely alright within 24 hours..

Is the medicinal facitily in KL so bad?? or is the doc inexperienced?? God only knows!!

I remember way back in India, how well we have medicinal facilities.. But another thing that came to my mind was that the docs here are MBBS.. But In India, the docs are more experienced and knowledgable like MBBS, MD/MS and some Specialization of course.. And have all facilities like scan, blood tests, etcetc.. they dont advise you based on some assumptions..
