Honesty is the best policy

Thought of sharing a story on honesty.

Once a General Manager of a company wanted to check his people about their value when they visited HQ for a conference.

He anounced that all of them will be handed over a pouch with a seed and they must put the seed in a good soil and look after it well so that when they come for the conference next year, he will award suitably for the best plant.

Everyone did what has been told & a year passed quickly. Conference data has been announced. On the day of conference, in that big hall, there were hundreds of pots with great variety of plants. It was a great feast for the eyes. But there was only one pot with the soil but there was no plant. The concerned employee was standing quietly and seemingly ashamed of himself.

The General Manager called him on the stage and asked him what happened. The person told that he planted the seed and did that was to be done but nothing happened.

The General Manager declared him the Winner. Every one was shocked after hearing the result.

General Manager said "Dear all, the seeds I gave you were boiled seeds. You planted them and nothing happened. You guys acted smartly and used some other seeds. But this man was honest to his work and he did not cheat me and himself."

Others were ashamed of their action.

Moral:
HONESTY IS STILL THE BEST POLICY.
