    Hi Rya,
    Karisalanganni powder is available in Banyanbotanicals.com. I trust them as they are from the ayurvedic institute. they also make bhringaraj oil with out any perfume. It is expensive but I want to take care of my hair so never mind with it. Also what are the ingredients you are going to put in your oil? Are you getting the things your athai mentioned ?Share what are the items you are going to add.

    yes birraj.
    i can get those ingredients fresh from my sister's house. tulsi leaves and hibiscus flower. and i am going to soak fenugreek seeds in coconut milk , grind it and add it to coconut oil. karisalankanni powder is a lil bit difficult to get here. amla, i can get frozen ones from indian stores and use it.

    what is the English name for karisilanganni powder? I am not able to locate it in Banyonbotanicals.

    Need recipes to make ayurvedic Hair oil

    Hi friends, I wanted to know if anyone can share their home made hair oil recipes.

    I remember my mother preparing one herbal oil with brahmi, bhringaraj, amla, curry leaves, hibiscus leaves, jasmine leaves, and garga (not sure what garga is called in English.) I am from mangalore and getting these herbs is not a problem.

    Please let me know what other herbs could be added,inorder to make hair grow long, thick and shiny.

    Hi friends,
    My homemade herbal hair oil receipe is as follows:
    Make a smooth paste of rosepetals(1 full flower) , curry leaves(10 leaves)and orange skin(1 orange).Heat a vessel and pour this paste in it.Heat it and add 2-3 cups of coconut oil.Add 1 tsp of henna powder and 1/2 tsp of menthi powder to it.Boil the oil , until it gets seperated from water.Oil comes to surface.Cool it.Store it in a airtight container.U should use this oil within 15 days.It also darken the grey hair apart from keeping the head cool.U can use this oil 1 or 2 hrs before taking head bath as it acts as a good conditioner for hair.If u filter this oil u can use it as hair oil also.
