Any day home made food is better. You can make healthier choices with the ingredients.
Since your daughter is 14 months old you can start the transition to cows milk. Absolutely no harm in shifting to regular milk. Just take it slowly.

Dear IL'ites, Some of our members have shared some excellent homemade malt recipes for kids. Thank you vjbunny, shnvy, ramyaramani, knbg for your contributions. For viewership by a larger audience I have summarized it and it is featured here. Ladies, please read and share with your friends. I remember having given a thick mixture of ragi, chana daal and almonds to my toddler a few years back. I don’t know how tasty she had found it, but at least she had eaten it all up!

@srinithi Sathu maavu is generally started when baby is 9 months old. Take cues from your baby with respect to the amount. To start with try 1 tbsp.

I do know people who give sathu maavu to babies when they are 5 months old but the ingredients are less compared to this recipe.

srinithi, if you can rub and wash , dry and then roast, you can try few spoons. because sometimes, the husk could linger, which could cause tummy upset. since you are in chennai, have you tried the sathu maavu from west mambalam health centre, many used to get this.

    the safest one though is
