    @ramya
    Sathumavu is healthy food. I think it gives strength to the LO not adding up weight and am giving this to my Lo at 6 month onwards (nuts i started it from 9 month). She eats well but not putting weight.

    @siddusahana Sathumaavu also helps in gaining weight. But only thing it helps in the ingredients. If you add rice, then you get your carbs which help in weight gain.

    i have read somewhere long back, if your baby tends to put on too much weight in the 0-5 years, there is a chance of being over weight later in life.. not sure if this was a right theory then, but today i think it could hold a little truth..

    but coming to your daughter, as long as she is healthy, active, weight is just something that can be relaxed on.. yes we all like chubby kids, but it also depends on the other factors, like heriditary, her metabolic rate and also activeness.

    today lot of docs, ask you to add on weight only if they find the child is underweight beyond acceptable limits...

    @shanvy Believe me I don't aim for a chubby child now. I did have teeny-weeny desire of my child being a chubby one. But I am blessed with a hyper active kid keeping me quite happy (and overworked) with her naughtiness.

    Unfortunately she does not come in the growth charts. So paed has asked me to work on her weight gain.

    Myself and DD have weight problems. Only thing, I have to lose it and DD has to gain it. :)

    ramya,

    it reminds me of friend i have who shops for her dresses in the juniors section under junior label and she is 42..and she eats everything from butter to cakes and desserts and does not put on single ounce of fat..while i do with just breating butter or dessert...

    now she is hyper and naughty then she is burning lot of calories.. hope she puts on weight and reaches her ideal..

    @shanvy Some people are blessed like that! If only it was us. I always wonder if I put on weight even when I just drink water.

    For DD I am still able to put 3-6 months dresses. Only thing it does not cover her bum!

    then she is growing tall.. my son was a very long baby and was removed at 40days ahead of my Due date because of my uterus not being able to accomodate..he was a very lean baby..but he put on a little chubbiness later around 3 years.. he is still chubby but quite tall for his age..he is 6ft at 14..

    so just enjoy this phase, time flies....maybe she will make up some time...

    Now let me stop before VJB throws me out for hijacking this thread on malt...

    @Shanvy, @Ramya, my daughter is also on the higher percentile in terms of height but her weight is not increasing. She can still wear her 3-4 month frocks except I use them as tops :) Since I'm very thin and used to be under-weight when I was a baby, she seems to be just following my growth pattern. I'm trying my best to make her eat and gain weight but as long as she is active and healthy, I'm trying not to get worried with the weight factor.
