Hello, I'm Yumi, Japanese. I'm planning to come to Dasada on 23th, and Pethapur and Ahmedabad city on 24th, during Holi festival in 2016. Is it widely celebrated in Ahmedabad? Could anyone recommend me where I should go for joining? Will Local market, shops and restaurants be all closed on 23 or 24th???
Hello yumi! Yes holi is celebrated in ahmedabad, but it is mainly played with family and friends only. There is not any public celebration where anyone can join in. If you are coming with friends, you can go to any college area where collegians celebrate holi with their friends. For public holi celebration and to see what is the importance of holi, I suggest you to go mathura and vrindavan. They celebrate holi with great joy and people from all over India go there to enjoy holi.
