Hindi Channels in US

    Hi,

    I was searching on how to get Hindi TV Channels in US and I came across two sources. DirectTV and WatchIndia - Indian TV online with live Indian TV Channels

    Has anyone tried any of these? watchindia.tv says that it telecasts channels live from India. Does DirectTV telecast live from India or is delayed by a week or so?

    Hi AJ,

    We have Dish Network at home. We have all the Hindi Channels and some other regional ones too. From what I understand they are not exactly "live" and neither they are week's old telecast.

    What I mean is they maintain the prime time as in like say "abc" serial is shown in India at 9pm on Tuesday night, we in US will also get the same serial at 9pm US time Tuesday. So actually they just maintain the time difference between India and US. Some of the News Channels though are Live. I do not know exactly which ones. I have right now at home STAR TV, STAR +, ZEE & SONY. These are as per the time difference only. I am sure the news channels are live.


    I believe it the same for Direct TV.

    It seems Dish has more channels than DirecTV or watchindiatv. I guess I will order it.

    Hi,

    Any one knows how to get a subscription for hindi channels in USA.

    Dish does not work in this area? SO looking for some setup box/IPTV kind of packages.

    We have AT&T U verse and pay 35 dollars for 4 Hindi Channels.

    I heard it depends upon where you live. Someone told me that you can watch online for free.

    We have time warner here...And it has only one channel Zee which I am not interested

    Let me check out AT&T... I know we get telugu/tamil channels and they have some setup box kind of thing. But could not find equvalant in hindi..

    I just posted on another thread for Malayalam channels. I have a Roku and you can get Hindi channels through them. Go to their page and check the pacakages from each channel on international for India. South India seems to be a little more represented but Hindi channels are still there. Dont' kow if it will meet your needs. Lots of free content worldwide on Roku.

    DishTV has an IP TV version for areas that do not allow dish to be installed. It has a set topbox kind of thing I guess...

    DISH Network IPTV

    Check it out! They have 17 Hindi channels

    Hello,

    I was just going through the IPTV set top box option as we stay in an apartment and have direction issue so cannot install the dish. Just wanted to check on the quality in case of IPTV..how is it ..is it comparable to the dish one? we do hv high speed internet connection frm comcast.
    kindly let me know if any of you have it in ur place.
