Hi Friends, I have planned a luncheon at home for my colleagues at home. All of them would be Americans. Please suggest me as to what can I offer them. It has to be easy to make and taste good as well. Thank you so much.
Are you planning an indian menu? You couldn't go wrong with roti, pulao, a dry veg, a gravy and a lentil dish. Papad to start with, raita on the side, fruit salad for dessert. Spice the dishes mildly and have chopped green chillies roasted in ghee for the ones who dare. If not indian, something quick to assemble like tacos. Or pasta bake which can be served with garlic bread and a store bought tiramisu.
Why don't you make some INdian dishes and few American dishes.. else, make some fusion food..in sense indoamerican. do add less spice though.. make our mango milkshakes...Indian way..they will love it! fried rice not Briyani.. pooris is they will love with aloo gravy.. papad is a sure hit. appetizer our pakoras will be loved.make it crispy. also make an Indian salad.
Dear Anika/ Guesshoo, Thank you so much for those ideas. Great ideas. Papad , can we get mangos at Indian stores now?
Did that several times, not only for Americans but other nationalities too. Most of the time, they would expect something from our side. I would offer fried rice, chicken or sea food deviled (less spice though), papad and have some pasta in addition to rotti, naan or something of that species for a change.
