Help about the kid - he wont eat

    hi i am uma. i have a nine months old kid .

    i want to know what all the things i can give to my son.

    i am giving him the ragi malt (home prepared) and cerlac i started to givehim when he was in 6th month .now when i am taking the bowl near him he is turning off his mouth or not opening his mouth.
    i want your help regarding this.

    i asked my doctor can i start give him the fruits ,he told me to wait till summer comes as the weather is cool.
    i am tensed because i am first time mom and worried that he is not at all eating and he is hungry.

    so please help me out.

    i could not search in the site as no one is to take care of the child other than me.

    Dear uma,

    I am also a first time mom of 13 mon old so can undersytand.dont worry.i think this is common among all kids.even my dd stopped eating around 8 mon.even now it is v difficult to make her open mouth.check if he is getting any teeth and if they are paining.abt fruits i think u can give apple even in winter.pls check with your elders.keep patience,that is the only way with kids,we should keep trying,otherwise our kid only will become weak.

    Hi Uma,

    The child may be bored with the same taste everyday. You can try changing the food. Make Khichdi or daliya and try. you can try using sweet or salty tastes and see which one the child likes. And try to keep giving different things rather than a same thing everyday.

    Hi uma,

    I too have a kid of 6 months old.She too dont like cerelac and ragi... :).So I am giving 1/2apple(boiled one) daily....Apples are good for health..U can also start to give potaotoes mashed(which my kid dont like) and carrot(boil it and then grind it...Filter well then extract the juice...Again juice must be boiled with little sugar in it).Give dhal water as it contains more protein.If he likes u can give little kichadi....
