Well life for Indians on a whole in the Saudi and in the Gulf is good when we consider the money earning part. But for Indian ladies in the Saudi, I feel theres lots of restrictions. The place where Im based we have to wear an abaya and cover your head, well thats ok. But we also have to cover our faces too and walk like a terrorist!!!!! bonkI personaly feel women here are put in some kind of bondage, but then they are brought up like this so its ok with them.
We have many parks here where we can get together with family and friends. There are a variety of restuarants too, but again here the society around doest approve of women eating in restuarants.

    Hi LeenaMG,

I have read many books about Saudi woman. They are used to wearing the abaya. If they don't wear it they feel like naked.

Some of the rich Saudi woman, when they travel abroad they don't wear the abaya, they take it of on the aircraft.

Can you wear a saree, since a part of the belly can be seen?

    Hi LeenaMG & Chandramukhi

There are some misconception about Abaya .You are restricted to wear it in public only where there are males , not where only women present or in your home . There are lot of benefits of this . Donn't you compare the ratio of crime against female here with anywhere in the world ? This country is known to be safest for female . Plus there islam or this country does not put any restrictions on what you like to wear or dot wear in your privacy . Also saying that they will feel naked when not wearing abaya is worn as chandamukhi says , if they feel so how they remove their abaya in home or in all women places ? There is no restricton on fashion or pleasures just haya is necessary .
