    Hi I am probably suffering from the empty nest syndrome, so I resort to emotional eating. and my major problem is I get easily side-tracked. Today I am heading into this weight loss journey yet again. But this time, I am coming at the angle of recovery. My promise to myself for 2016 is to make this journey a LIFESTYLE. I am so over the diet - binge cycle! Looking for some support from you all!

    Hi Anandsri,

    I am no expert in nutrition but your daily calorie count is too low, and I am sure if you eat atleast 1200 calories daily you can reach your goals quicker and maintain consitancy.

    Type of vegetables which we need to take everyday.

    Hi @teddydolly : Dont take weight loss trouble you. That is the reason why you swing from strict diet to emotional eating. Take it light.. Reward yourself for little achievements and avoid treating yourself hard when you couldnot achieve. I trust this group might help you in what you want to achieve.

    @ssudhan: Every vegetable has its own goodness. Having them raw as well as cooked are worth it. A plate/cup of raw salad including raw carrots, cabbage , lettuce coleslaw, slices of cucumbers makes your tummy full before we plan hunting those carbs. ( I am also planning on a salad challenge in the forth coming weeks)
    You can have vegetables in any form /any meal- Include them in salads, make them as chutneys, curry, poriyal/thorans/kootus or in dosas.. any form which you love them to eat!!!
    Keep watching this thread. Our friends here are innovative cooks. You will be amazed on their food diaries and how people incorporate protiens, vegetable and fruits to their daily requirements.
