Healthy Juices ...

    Dear Friends,

    Freshly made juices are very good source of vitamins and minerals. Vitamins activate enzymes which act as a catalysts in hundreds of thousands of chemical reactions that take place throughout our body.

    Enzymes produce energy and are essential for digesting, absorbing and converting food into body tissue. Without vitamins, enzymes could not carry out their work, and we could not live.

    Our body can absorb more vitamins and minerals if we drink fresh juices than if we eat the fruits and vegetables whole. By blending fruits and vegetables to make juices and smoothies, we break down the fibers to release the trapped nutrients.

    Juicing Tips :
    1. Wash the Fruits and Vegetables thoroughly before juicing. Remove damaged portions, if any.
    2. Use organic produce where possible
    3. Juice with stems and leaves. Remove stems and leaves of carrots, as they are toxic. The leaves of celery are bitter so you may remove them.
    4. You may use seeds of lemon, lime,orange, etc. Do not use Apple seeds, as they are toxic.
    5. Do not use skins of organge and grapefruits, as they are toxic. Do not throw the white pithy part as they are a source of vitamin C and bioflvonoids.
    6. You can garnish juices with black pepper, salt, lemon juice, parsely, cilantro, cinnamon, etc.

    Carrot + Ginger + Apple - Boost and cleanse our system.

    Apple + Cucumber + Celery - Prevent cancer, reduce cholesterol, and improve stomach upset and headache.

    Tomato + Carrot + Apple - Improve skin complexion and bad breath.

    Bitter gourd + Apple + Milk - Avoid bad breath and reduce internal body heat.

    Orange + Ginger + Cucumber - Improve Skin texture and moisture and reduce body heat.

    Pineapple + Apple + Watermelon - To dispel excess salts, nourishes the bladder and kidney.

    You have come with another set of excellent & valuable information !

    I have a small doubt..in the juices with apples..you have given pics of only green apples..and not red apples ..is there any particuular reason for this?

    Can we substitute red apples instead of green in those juices?

    Krithika, ofcourse you can use Red apple instead of Green apple ... Only the taste differs in them but health wise all APPLE are same dear friend ... Are you ready with your Apple for making Juice :wink:... Regards, Suni ... :)

    I am impressed with the way of presentation.
    Now summers are coming.I need to take the print out of your i formation and attached to the fridge so that I can make healthy juices,whenever I want.:goodidea:
