Don"t be stressed. I had the similar experience. My hcg level was also very low when we went for pregnancy confirmation apptmt.. It was 39 at 28-29 days pregnant. My doc told me it is very low and from her face, I was able to assume that something scary is on the way. She asked me to take hcg test after 2 days and it should be doubled by that time. By god's grace it was doubled in the next blood test. She said I might have a late conception which is confirmed by ultrasound in the 7th week( baby's growth was one week less, with heartbeat) ..so don't worry, it might be a late conception in your case. Didn't ur dr ask for a second hcg test?

Hi Rakhii,
I had conceived through IVF so had my HCG level checked every week. In the 5th week when the limit was something 9000 and above I remember it was 6800. I had low Hcg level in all the week test .So donot worry everything would be fine.

Hi Rakhi,

As the above member has said, hCG, increases by at least 60 % after 48 hours, upon serial estimation, in pregnancy.

One single value does not have much significance.

Ultrasonography would confirm, whether the pregnancy is okay or not...........and where it is (intrauterine or otherwise).

What happened in ultrasonography ?
