I could handle the works for 59 th birthday of my fil in temple last year. There were works like return gift distribution. Packed all the items myself.Recieving people , giving ladies flowers, arranging for meals and dinner( my dh helped me in this). Distributing biscuits, juices. Making estimation for number of juice , biscuit and all was made by me( prior buying). Since my sil had 2 kids , she couldn't help much.younger one needed lot of attention. But she helped me in putting rangoli( big one in many places). One of my atha also helped me in putting rangoli. I was the one to help the priest get the things he wanted. After the function got over ,I packed all the things that we took from home. I went to pil's home 10 days before the function. Now when I think about it I feel" have I done this!". Really happy to think that I can manage a function

    hey interesting title.

i , for one, learnt that i can cook three times a day, manage two small kids and a full time job wihtout any help :)
i have realised that i can manage family gatherings and making sure everyone is well fed & happy

bu the most important thing i didnt know i had: standing up for myself. i never thot i would be able to fight back with anyone - old or small.
but now i stand up for myself & return the barbs & tautnat with equal elan

i just hate cooking and can spend 1 hr in just cooking rice and dal :). it just happened that my ILs visited me unplanned and it was lunch time. i was able to cook dal, rice, roti, sabji and raita for 6 people, all in 50 mins. i had to start with peeling onions and without any help from anyone. also kept and eye on my 1 yr old who was trying to play with water all this time. and best part was that the food was awesome :). i never thought i can cook so fast and still it can be nice. thanks to the expression of my MIL who was looking at the clock every second.
