Hi Friends, I am starting this thread because I know the Mumbai and Pune guys must have visited this place once at least. Though originally I am not from Maharashtra,I am from Amritsar by birth but I studied here in Pune and was curious that my ILite friends out here must have visited Khandala.I visited there quite a lot of times with my friends and I love the place . Here are the pics. Please share friend if you have some more
Thank you for sharing..can you give more details about these places..?Is it the same Khandala..as in the song"AAthi kya khandala"?
Hey Manjeetha:hiya, thanx for the photos...Though I haven't roamed there, I always loved it through the train windows,, while travelling to Mumbai from south.. Entering that big dark tunnel...was a special feeling... Thanx and bye
hi manjeeta, even i had been to lonavla a couple of years back, when we were in mumbai for my husband's project... but it was rainy and foggy and we couldn't go to kandala... but i thoroughly enjoyed the drive, beautiful hills with streams trickling down them.... and yes, i came back with loads of chikki, made from all kinds of nuts.... i'll see if i can post some of the pics we took there...
ya supriya, its the same... lonavla and kandala are hill stations in maharashtra, quite close to each other... they are accessible from mumbai and pune. you can take a train or drive to lonavla....the route from mumbai to lonavla is beautiful and the road is also good, once you leave the city limits and hit the highway... will be back with more specific details if you need, sometime later...
Hi manjeeta I have been to Lonavla many years ago and loved it. Also have been to Mahableshwar a few years ago and liked it a lot.
Hi Manjeet, Thanks for sharing the pics.Few years back i have been to this place for didnot roam a lot but i loved the train journey while coming back to hyderabad .Its indeed a beautiful place. Regards Mitra
Lovely pics Manjeet, Thanks for sharing it with us. Hey you forgot to mention the famous Lonavala Chikki & the Garma garam Batata vada.:drool Lonavala & Khandala were our fav summer holiday haunts. After the first rains, the waterfalls made a beautiful scenery. I miss those days! Unfortunately now they have become a concrete jungle thanks to every celebrity wanting to have a bangalow/flat there. Regards, Corallux
