    Shems,

    Very nice designs.

From where did you buy the materials? From Trvandrum? I am in Cochin but do not find quality materials in Cochin.

What do you call the beads in the first picture?
I would also like to know how you made the pendant of the black bead necklace.

    Hi,
    Thanks for the compliment...
I usually buy materials from Trivandrum and through online. Well, getting quality stuff is a bit difficult. I thought I can buy a little more quality stuff from Cochin... :(. I was actually planning a trip to Cochin.

The beads in the first picture, I will call it as spike beads,:). I accidentally found this bead in a shop and purchased it. I am also not familiar with the malayalam words of the raw materials. I usually show the pictures to the shop boys..:)

The pendant is actually a chain tassel I.e. pieces of equal length chain connected to an eyepin. The connected part is covered by a bead cap. Small crystal beads are connected at the end of the chain using the small eyepins. Hope that is helpful. Please check the chain tassel tutorials online. You will get some more idea.

    Cheers,
    Shems

    Hi sudhayamini,

    Thanks for your compliment.

I too have the allergy problem if I wear these pieces continuously for some days. I usually wear it for the occasion and will remove it immediately after the function. I usually purchase materials from Trivandrum, and some of the stuff through online.

How much to spend, you mean money or time? Well, if it is money, it depends on the quality and quantity of the stuff used. If it is time, that depends on complexity. But one thing for sure, it requires a lot of patience....:). I am a beginner, doing a self study using online tuts. I feel relaxed and proud when I make these kind of creative things.
