Is mineral oil harmful to hair? I was planning to use the Amla oil to make the ends and shaft shiny, and massage very little into the scalp.

But for overnight hair oiling, I use Olive Oil

Coconut oil is the best. Coconut oil help to grow hair & make it shiny.

UPDATE: Now I mix Amla oil with Conditioner, leave it in few minutes (while in shower), and hair is very smooth and shine is evenly distributed. Very nice!!!

[FONT=Source Sans Pro, sans-serif]Alloils make hair look oily if applied too much of it. Our own scalpproduce oils to protect skin and hair, but within few days or so whenthere is too much oil it looks greasy, so we have to wash our hair.Shampooing, from one point, makes hair clean, but from another point,it makes hair completely dry (oil-free) and this is not good. Oilsare good and bad at the same time! We need them, but not too much. The key is to use very small amount of any oil you like. I usecoconut oil to eliminate frizz from my hair. And it gives shine.
